Timed EVENT

This is a timed event where each participant will be allowed to shoot as many shots as they can in a specific amount of time. All made shots will be counted as long as the shooter was on the shooters mat (circle) at the time the shot was attempted.

The Start: the player begins at the free throw line (within the circle). Then, the player can shoot from any of the spaces. One foot must be in the circle when the shot was attempted to be awarded the points.

Player RULES

Each player will be using the same type of basketball
Players can NOT use their own basketball
Men's basketball size (29.5 - 30), Women's (28.5), under 13 (27.5)
Each player will be shooting on a basket with a similar net
Each player will have 1:30 (1 minute, 30 seconds) to complete a round
Each player will shoot 2 rounds and the best combined scores will move on to the next round
The top 10 from each age/gender group (8 age/gender groups) will move on to the championship round
Each player will rebound their own missed attempts
Each player waiting to shoot will NOT interfere with others who are shooting
Each player will be ready to shoot when their number is called
Players will be awarded points if they make the basket from any of the designated shooting mats
Players will be awarded 10 extra points if they attempt a shot from each of the designated shooting mats. The player dos NOT have to make a basket from each of the spots, they only need to have attempted a shot from each of the designated shooting mats
Each basket will have 1 timer and 1 score keeper, unless they are using the automatic scoring apps
The score keeper is the judge and their decision is final
The score keeper will turn in their results to the head score keeper to be tailed and posted
In the event of a tie. Each player will have 45 seconds to play a tie breaker round
Each player will abide by these rules or is subject to disqualification
PROFANITY OF ANY KIND IS NOT TOLERATED. The player will be asked to leave

Scoring | Court SETUP

Official Court Setup Document
Three Point Line (4 points)
Free Throw Line (2 points)
Second Blocks - Elbow Extended (3 points)
Layup (1 point)
Bonus points if the player attempts all shots on the court (10 points)

 

The Start: The player begins at the free throw line on the shooters mat (within the circle). Then, the player can shoot from any of the shooting mats. The player can land with both feet outside the circle after the shot has been attempted (the player will NOT be awarded any points if they start from outside one of the circles). Points are only awarded if the player starts with at least 1 foot in the circle.

Bonus points are awarded to the player who attempts each shot on the court. The player doesn't have to make each shot to be awarded the 10 bonus points, they just need to attempt all shots on the court.

Age Groups:
Boys: 12 and Under
Boys: 13 -17
Adults (Men): 18-30
Adults (Men): 31-100

Girls: 12 and Under
Girls: 13 -17
Adults (Women): 18-30
Adults (Women): 31-100

Registration is open to the first xxx number of players. Each tournament is slightly different in participation and pricing.

The registration fee, time and place are set at the local level (your city). Most tournaments are similar to the fee schedule below:
$40.00 before 99/99/9999
$45.00 after 99/99/9999
if space available $50.00 the day of the event

Awards will be given to the top 3 shooters in each age/gender division. Each Participant will receive a custom Hott Shot Challenge Tee-shirt when registered.

Registration FEE

The Event: includes a shooting contest for 8 age/gender groups (Boys/Girls 12 and Under, Boys/Girls 13-17, Men/Women 18-30, Men/Women 31-99). No fee to transfer a registration to another player
